Woman Business Owner of the Year

"In 6 short years, The Energy CFO (cfo services company) has evolved and diversified her business more than some companies have in 20 years.  The ability to be so innovative is a great talent, and Paula will continue to rise and be even more successful than she is now", says Shirley Crandall, President of NAWBO San Antonio.
Award Winner Entrepreneur of the Year

Paula Waggoner-Aguilar, CEO and Founder of The Energy CFO®, is one of six San Antonio women who are recipients of the prestigious National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) 2019 Woman Business Owner Award.  Paula founded The Energy CFO in the heart of the Eagle Ford back in 2013 at the apex of the Shale boom in South Texas.  She is one of a very small number of women entrepreneurs (and female cfos) in the energy business.  She has overcome many obstacles throughout her oil and gas career, including navigating her firm through one of the worst energy sector downturns since the 1980s.

STEER Community Impact Award Nomination

In 2015, The Energy CFO's CEO Paula Waggoner-Aguilar and the Women's Energy Network South Texas chapter she helped co-found was honored with a nomination for the South Texas Energy Economic Roundtable (STEER) Community Impact Award by Eagle Ford Oil and Gas Operators for their efforts and trailblazing leadership in building programs in South Texas that positively impact and support the oil and gas industry and help advance women working in traditionally male-dominated energy sectors. While they did not win the award, to be acknowledged by your peers is a reward in itself.

Credit goes to not only to the chapter co-founders and founding board, but also the women, men, other oil and gas organizations, and companies that stepped up and provided financial support, tapped their networks, volunteered, and provided social influence that first year.
