Our CFO Firm's Story
Energy and Healthcare
The Energy CFO was initially established to help energy entrepreneurs operating in the Eagle Ford accelerate their growth by providing access to experienced CFO leadership that is typically not available to early and mid-stage private companies. During the 2014-2015 downturn, we started helping life science and later healthcare companies. This practice has grown over the year and in 2019 we carved it out and launched our healthcare division, The Healthcare CFO.
We Help Companies Accelerate Their Growth
We add value to our client's businesses by helping them accelerate their growth and moving them to the next level.
"Our formula for success is pretty simple. Treat others the way you want to be treated - with respect, candor, and integrity. Listen intently. Be curious and open to new perspectives. Gain an understanding of other people's perspectives and always be fair. Communicate frequently. Work really hard, offer actionable insights, and deliver more value than the client expects."
In doing so, we accomplish our mission to help owners and executives grow strong sustainable businesses so they can create more jobs in our local communities, contribute towards state and local tax bases, and ignite that fiercely innovative American spirit within ALL of us.
Woman Majority Owned Business
The Energy CFO® is a diverse and inclusive organization. We are a woman majority-owned business. Our minority owner is Hispanic (Bilingual CFO), and our workforce is very experienced. We are headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Appointments are required as we mostly work in the cloud or on-site at our client's offices across the US and Texas.
Our firm was established in 2013 by a GenX Energy CFO who had moved from Houston to San Antonio to work in the Eagle Ford for a Billionaire. Paula Waggoner-Aguilar started working in the oil business in the 1990's in the oilfield services, petroleum equipment manufacturing, and power generation markets in Latin America.
The Energy CFO® is one of a small number of women-owned firms with a niche in petroleum, oil and gas, oil field services, renewable energy, chemicals, and manufacturing.
